The "Guillermo y Alejandro de Humboldt" Chair was inaugurated on October 19, 1998, and was created based on an agreement between the National Autonomous University of Mexico, El Colegio de México and the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, DAAD). The academic collaboration agreement with El Colegio de México provides for the joint development of activities such as theoretical classes, seminars in postgraduate studies, counseling and support of thesis work, research in interdisciplinary and international groups through the organization of Conferences, Lectures, and specialized or interdisciplinary Conferences, carried out in close cooperation with counterparts from El Colegio de México located in Mexico and Latin America. For this purpose, scientific exchange programs are supported, including publications, translations and related events which are promoted such as the production of online courses and a variety of repositories of video material.
